Patient Gets Latissimus Dorsi Reconstruction For Treatment Of Her Breast Cancer!

Patient was diagnosed with breast cancer on her left breast. She consulted with Dr. Bennett about her options and then decided to have a mastectomy on the left side with her general surgeon and waiting to start reconstruction. Once she decided to proceed with the reconstruction process she opted to have a mastectomy on the right side as well. She decided this would lessen her fear of a reoccurrence in that breast. In order to give her the fullness she desired Dr. Bennett did the latissimus flap reconstruction with tissue expanders. Once the expanders were filled to the desired volume Dr. Bennett placed a 450cc gel implant on the right side and 400cc gel implant in the left. She now has the option to schedule her nipple reconstruction and areola tattooing.
